Paulo Oliveira Vice-Chair of IET System Safety Engineering TN

ESC is pleased to announce that its Humberside Associate Director and expert Paulo Oliveira has been nominated vice-chair of IET System Safety Engineering Technical Network (TN).
Paulo Oliveira Vice-Chair of IET System Safety Engineering TN
Paulo’s role as vice-chair will be focused on identifying and presenting hot topics for discussion, drive engagement, input into the TN plan and budget for the year as well as deputising for the IET Chair.
The IET System Safety Engineering Technical Network supports activities that improve the development and assurance of safe systems drawing together professionals working in functional and systems safety as well as helping the development of safe systems and services by giving safety issues proper consideration as part of systems engineering.
The TN interests include functional safety, human factors, systems of systems, dynamic management of safety, and exploring the interactions between safety, cybersecurity, resilience, and other allied disciplines.
Amongst its many activities like conferences, seminars, and webinars the network has supported a number of initiatives including the recently developed and published IET code of practice for Cybersecurity and safety.

“The IET Safety Systems TN is a great forum for idea and topic generation with experts in all areas of system safety which provides a great opportunity to represent our safety system communities needs, whether it is from an application or development/emerging knowledge perspective. I will be looking forward to supporting the TN’s mission and contribute to its continued success”
