ESC provided Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) with a variety of safety consultancy services for 30+ of their hydroelectric power stations in Scotland. These services include Machinery Risk Assessment/PUWER, Functional Safety Management (FSM), Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Determination and Verification. ESC also performed a review of the company operational procedures for the SSE wind farm facilities.
ESC provided support in Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Determination for the Thames Barrier gate control system.
ESC delivered Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Determination and Verification for the Ammonia Gas Detection and Reservoir overfill protection systems in accordance with the requirements of IEC 61508 and IEC 61511.
